One Piece: Treasure Cruise is an Alternate Universe (AU) site where the straw hats and all the other famous pirates of the animanga do not exist.
The Time frame for the site is around the same time frame of the Animanga so the technology and such are on par with what is seen in the show though some advances can be made within reason of course.
There should be no mention of cannon characters as none of them exist and although there may be certain things that are similar to the animanga as this site is based off of it, the animanga is not considered cannon on this site.
Plot
Seventy years ago the three way war going on within the sky was still happening with high casualties on all sides. Because of this a truce was initiated. Each island would have its own independence away from rule of the other islands. The truce would hold so long as they stayed on their respective island and did not venture off into the territory of the other islands. Although there have been news about multiple Birkans, Shandians, or Skypieans dying while on one of the other islands the open, all-out fighting has stopped and a lot of the killing has been toned down. However, this has not stopped many sky islanders from leaving their home in search of a peaceful life down in the Blue Oceans not knowing that they were going from one multiple century long war to another.
Around sixty years ago the revolutionaries had a secret base within East Blue on Colors Island. The secret base there was becoming so successful due to the fact that none would suspect any trouble out of the weakest ocean in the world, so much so that they would be surprised to run into high ranking officials of the revolution there. This went on for about ten years until the World Government finally got wind of the location of the hideout. The fight was brought to the base and the leader of the revolution at the time stayed behind to fight off the attack giving his people time to escape. Due to the public execution of the leader of the revolution having hurt the recruiting process for a few years it was then that the revolution decided to work through a system of council so that there would never again be just one leader of the revolution but five one for each blue and one for the Grand Line as a whole. Forty years ago people began to move back to colors island and multiple towns and villages have sprang up there each named after a specific color.
In the present time the fighting has become less open warfare and more vying for islands and power. However fighting between the revolution and the World Government still persist because of this the World Government has increased taxes. This has caused unrest in many of the civilians and has bolstered the ranks of the revolution. However in a move that no one saw coming there have been several individuals who feel as if the revolution is just as bad as the World Government and have gone to sea on their own to live by their own code and to enjoy their freedom. These pirates have sparked the Golden Pirate Era which has also sparked an increase in bounty hunters which is a fine way to earn a living and pay those raised taxes without joining the marines revolutionaries or the pirates.

Alright, I think I have the gist of the war now. So basically, while the war got pretty heated, ultimately nothing actually happened from it, other than a bunch of deaths on all three sides? I'll figure out the island thing once we have the actual war figured out, as that's the biggest issue really.
As for the Shandora thing, I was actually going with that the snake drove them out because they couldn't afford to fight a giant snake AND two armies all at once. The giant snake was young and underground for a long time, but during the war it hit maturity and became aggressive due to all the fighting around it, became really territorial, and when it showed up the Shandians were like "FUCK THIS" and left, hoping to reclaim the city after the fact. They just hadn't yet because of one reason or another - expecting further attacks from the other two sides regardless of the truce, they felt they didn't have the manpower, they'd already rebuilt new homes due to the length of the war, etc etc.
Lorien is just a random made up island that exists for the backstory. I dont know what sea I want him to start in yet since there arent really that many people on this site yet, and I dont wanna commit to being in one sea when everyone who joins will be in another.
As for the reasoning for the war, "wanting Shandia for themselves" was the canon reason for it. As there wasn't actually a reason given in the plot section, I assumed at least that much is still the same.
Cool cool. Yeah, the "very durable" was meant like "relative to the fact that a gold weapon would in real life be shitty, but this is one piece so whatever"
...crap. I had meant the Greased Lightning tech as an intermediate tech. Could you change it? With 5 Rookie techs I would have enough for 3 rookie and one int.
I will take a look at the backstory and see if I can rewrite it with that in mind. I'll let you know when I edit it.
The idea was that it was a rookie quality sword but Meito in name only due to basically nepotism. It holds up as a Meito because there aren't other swords like it to judge against.
ITEM NAME Koyōsei (Lit. "Little Fairy") ITEM TYPE Sword ITEM RANK Rookie PERSONAL
DESCRIPTION Koyosei is a sword in name only - it is a large, heavy "bokken" made of pure gold that Drake created during his fight with the giant serpent. It was a roughly 50 pound chunk of gold that was previously used to side a building in the town square, however Drake used his lightning powers to quickly reforge it into a blunt sword. Due to the help of his new home's blacksmiths, he has learned how to reforge it into a blade temporarily using a special technique. While a normal sword made of gold would not hold an edge, this one is incredibly dense and can hold up to repeated combat... so long as it's used by someone who can handle its weight.

In light of going with this, I'm going to actually drop Dasai Hand from my starting techniques, and add this one instead. I would change it into the tech thread, but that thread is now closed and saved.
TECHNIQUE NAME Pon-tou-kin
Range Self Classification Support Rank Rookie Personal DESCRIPTION Drake puts his hand on the back of his blunt "Koyosei" sword and heats it with electricity, quickly reforging the front "edge" into an actual, very sharp edge, allowing him to strike with cutting power instead of blunt impact. Because of the weapon's dense construction, it can hold the edge as long as it needs. The technique can be used again to change the weapon back to its original blunt form.
I'll app the sword since it's a pretty good item, even though its nothing really special. The manacles are just manacles so them being crap is fine.
Hm. In the series itself, the only reason the war actually ended was because Enel came in and beat everyone into the floor and declared himself GRAND POOBAH GOD MAN, and he obviously doesn't exist here. As a result I wrote the character more or less entirely based around the war still going on. Since the only info I had on the Sky Islands in regards to this RP was one paragraph in the Plot section that didn't say it ended, I assumed it was still going. Apparently there was a second paragraph about a truce in there that I missed. Crap.
...well, crap. Would it be possible to say that despite the truce, Birka was basically looking for an excuse to resume the war (as they're the religious zealots of the group, its pretty likely)? As long as that was the case, the backstory still makes sense - Birka takes their new allies as an excuse to resume the conflict, since in their minds Skypeia being hostile is them attempting to block trade to the Sky Islands, thus breaking the truce. They retaliate as in the backstory, and the rest still flows.
I'm hoping this is alright, because otherwise I basically need to scrap the entire backstory and probably the entire character.
Also the techs arethe same, i just put simplified versions here to save space since some of them are very long. I have links to the tech approval thread with the long versions instead.
Yeah, he's only moving at a run speed, he's just doing so from a dead stop so it appears like he's moving as fast as lightning. The thunderclap is from the sudden acceleration.
Dont approve these just yet then, I still wanna mess with the names yet, but I will let you know (probably about the same time i finalize the character)
Decided to trim them down to some better ideas. Also, I may change the names themselves once I settle on a naming scheme, but for now, these should be good. Let me know whatcha think.
Just straight electrical damage appropriate for the skill level, no secondary effects. I'm going with how the show works for now with how Goro Goro electricity works on cartoon rules, doing more zapping and burning and not OH GOD HEART PALPITATIONS AND BRAIN DAMAGE.
Kept having a bunch of issues with the template format on two different computers ow, so I'm posting these in a bare-bones layout with the same info.
Also, just wanted to clear something up - the description of Rookie techniques describes them as "nothing supernatural", but some of the approved universal Rookie techniques are things like throwing air pressure sword beam cuts. Not to nitpick, but you might wanna be a little clearer about what is and isnt a Rookie technique, cause I wasn't too sure. Let me know where these stand as far as leveling.
Anyway, starting techniques for my Goro Goro guy.
TECHNIQUE NAME Ura-Bancho Bullet
Range Long (equivalent to standard pistol ranges) Classification Offense Rank Rookie Personal DESCRIPTION Drake fires a bullet or similarly sized piece of metal from his hand, using electromagnetism. While it only deals the same damage as an actual gunshot, it is much quieter and only makes a soft 'Ping' sound when fired, as well as mildly shocking the target hit.
~ ~ ~
TECHNIQUE NAME Menchi Beam
Range Medium (Up to 30') Classification Offense Rank Rookie Personal DESCRIPTION Drake fires a single bolt of lightning from his body to deal standard electrical damage to a single target. He can fire the bolt from pretty much anywhere, but usually shoots it from a finger or his eyes. Due to the nature of electricity, this bolt tends to arc towards metal objects, and a target made of metal or wearing a lot of metal will have a hard time dodging the attack. A target hit by the bolt will usually end up burned by the electrical power, and weaker opponents will usually pass right out from shock.

TECHNIQUE NAME
Pon-tou-kin (or "Switchblade")
Range Self Classification Support Rank Rookie Personal
DESCRIPTION Drake puts his hand on the front of his blunt "Koyosei" sword and heats it with electricity, quickly reforging the front "edge" into an actual, very sharp edge as he runs his lightning-hand along it, allowing him to strike with cutting power instead of blunt impact. Because of the weapon's dense construction, it can hold the edge as long as it needs. The technique can be used again to change the weapon back to its original blunt form, but at it's current level the blade can only be forged to stay sharp for five posts at a time (though it can be 're-sharpened' if needed).
~ ~ ~
TECHNIQUE NAME Greased Lightning
Range Short (Up to 15') Classification Offense Rank Intermediate Personal DESCRIPTION Drake holds his sword up in a rather traditional Kendo pose, letting his electrical power crackle up it slightly, then darts forward with the sound of a thunderclap and the speed of lightning and brings the sword down on an opponent's head or shoulders in a traditional kendo slash with crushing force... and a blast of electricity for good measure. Due to Drake's strength and the speed of the attack powered by him briefly turning into lightning, this attack usually flattens most opponents into the ground. Even if an opponent blocks the attack they will still be shocked by the electricity on the sword, if they block with their bare hands or something that can conduct electricity (like most swords), This attack could also be used with a normal bladed sword, but Drake doesn't have one yet. If used with an actual sword, it will instead be one of the classic run-by-slashes, doing a high-speed cut to the opponent's center mass and then frying them with lightning after the fact, in addition to breaking through Rookie level defenses.
