Appearance
An athletic, but slim girl, Danni is very often cold to the touch, and she tends to try and sleep in the warmest places she can find.. Her eyes appear black, but are really just violet, and that becomes more prominent when light is shown directly into them. A little more obvious at night or in other low light conditions. Her hair is a mess of black that sticks up in odd places, most noticeably in her bangs that keep themselves out of her eyes. It is kept short and cut likely by herself with a knife, as it is uneven around. She does keep herself clean in general.
For clothing, Danni prefers leather. Her shirt is a tight black vest, with a zipper down the front, that zips all the way to the halfway point of her neck. The pull zipper is a little oversized, and is silver in colour, along with the teeth. Embroidered above the left breast, is her moniker, 'DWI', the initials of the nickname she so often uses, in white. Her pants are of the same leather material, and share the same shade and colour. These are tucked into her boots which go half way up her calf, and use buckles instead of laces. Over this, she wears a long coat that hangs to her knees and ends in tatters, with wide sleeves. This is covered in burn marks, though the coarse material of the coat keeps it from burning through.
Like any good pirate, Danni does indeed accessorize. Above her eyes, is a pink-tinted visor with no frame and a gentle curve that sits snugly on her skin. These are actually prescription, and help her see well enough, without them, anything within 5 feet is pretty blurry. A white belt, though unneeded to keep her pants up, sits around her waist, a capital 'D' serves as the belt buckle. On her right thigh is a pouch the same light brown colour of her coat with an open top, and held by straps that hook to her belt, and around her thigh. On her other leg, on the lower side, is a pouch with a lid cap fastened around it.
Danni's middle and pointer finger on either hand have rings on them, in the middle section, rather than at the base. The brighter silver coloured ones are on her pointers, while the duller ones are on the middle. These are flint and steel, and are used as a mostly hands free lighting material for her favourite things.
On either arm, and built into the coat, is her beloved explosives, all of varying types, the smallest being able to fit easily between her fingers, the biggest barely able to be held by one hand. The small ones are in the sleeves, and with a little mechanism, she can flick one down easily into her palm. The middle ones are in the pockets, and the big ones are held on the coat itself on holsters. The variety include the classics of flash, concussive, and fiery, but also more gimmick ones, such as Tabasco, shattering, and sticky.
While these are her primary weapons, if they can be called such, they are not her only ones she carries with her. Danni also, slung on her back, its scabbard attached to her coat, is a greatsword nearly as long as she is tall. It is her backup use, and its blade is double sided. The pommel has a wide cross guard, and a hilt long enough to easily be held in two hands with enough room to keep leverage. It seems it was originally made for someone a few steps bigger than Danni.

PERSONALITY
Danni is… quite the piece off work at times. She’s immature, loud, and has a bit of a quick fuse, and easy to goad into a fight. Without any idea, nor intention, of being subtle, Danni tends to be the center of attention wherever she goes with loud calls, explosive laughter, and a love off her own voice. Quite the drinker, Danni downs whatever’s in a cup like a fish guzzles water.
On the more personal side of things, Danni is, if you don’t mind being woken up at random intervals times by loud noises, not a terrible travelling companion. If she’s not at her workbench messing with compounds that could scrap a warship, her time is spent either running around after an imaginary friend with a hammer, sleeping, or bothering her crewmates. Danni’s habit of seeking out warm resting spots, tends to end up with her crawling uninvited into other people’s beds if she doesn’t just stretch out on a comfortable patch of sunlight. And sometimes, Danni just… disappears, unable to be found at all.
While she’s not as good as a full shipwright, Danni can fix most things in and around the ship. She’s also an effective navigator if she has the sun, and knows the currents and winds, far more than stars and charts.
Danni spends most of her time out on the deck near the aft, where she has a full crafting bench, built into the deck. This is where she creates her beloved fireworks, and various other concoctions depending on her mood.

HISTORY
The xenophobic attitudes of Fishman Island gave many pirates, and other passerby that couldn't use the passage over the Red Line, a great amount of troubles. Knowing this, a young molly mermaid kept her daughter's lineage a secret, as best as she rightfully could. It wasn't a secret that could last, and a confused young girl, was smuggled away from her mother, who daren't follow her to the surface, to live with her father.
One of Danni's earliest memories is watching her mother avert her eyes, when she was taken. Why didn't her mother love her? Didn't Mom want her? Those were the thoughts that consumed young Danni's mind, never quite realizing she had been in potential danger for simply existing. Her father, a pirate by nature, left shortly after delivering her to his home island, leaving her in the care of her grandfather.
Danni was an outcast growing up. Her half blooded nature wasn't obvious, as her grandfather had her cover up her gills, and the marines on the island were made unaware of her lineage. It helped keep her safe and out of trouble.
It didn't prevent it however. Like many children on the island, Danni was put to the test early on, by both her peers, and authority figures. The training grounds upon the island was known to churn out powerful marines, many being taught from a small age. The bigger and rowdier ones, of course, made the rules among the kids.
Danni wasn't, and still isn't, big, but she learned Rowdy. The game to play was Pirates and Marines. In reality, it was little more an excuse for the kids to play fight amongst each other. A team playing the 'pirates' would dress up, while a team playing the 'Marines' would dress up as well, each in their respective roles. Danni happily played the role of Pirate when they wouldn't let her be a Marine too.
The other kids were stronger, bigger, faster, and Danni could never quite best them, and the loser, at least Danni, was never allowed to hang out with them after. Maybe if she won, Danni would be able to hang out with them. That's what they told her, laughing as they left her behind.
So, Danni, with a little help from her Grandfather began to get better. She'd probably never become strong, at least in any event of fixing the problem, than her peers, or even quicker. So she learned to sharpen her wit, and predict them. Surely, Danni began to win. Even when she did... the other kids still wouldn't let her join. After all, Pirates were never supposed to beat marines. So she let them win, like before... But that wasn't enough either. Pirates were supposed to try their best, and still lose, like the loser Danni was.
So... she became more violent, acting out far more. Her grandfather pulled her away from the other kids. Even if Danni had gotten better, she still couldn't beat them all, and now that they knew Danni wasn't going to let them beat her up anymore, well, they just gained up on her. He began to teach her the family trade.
Once a year, the Jewels family put on a show, painting the skies with rhythmic colours, and thunderous booms. Danni always loved them, and had before asked to learn to make them, but he had always said when she was older. Well, the time was now, and Danni began to learn the craft. She quickly proved a natural talent. Her enthusiasm for the lights, the booms noises, the feeling of the shockwave passing through one's body a moment after the light washes you. Danni hardly left, and soon dropped out of school in favour of learning the craft.
That didn't satisfy the others that Danni had once wished little more than friendship. After all, their favourite punching bag had simply stopped coming, despite their demands that she show, even if long ago did they abandon the childish game. Danni put little resistance when they came. If she put up no resistance, they would grow bored quicker, and leave her alone, and let her get back to her craft.
Danni didn't fight back, up until they decided to mess with her things. Come on, Fight back, they said, it's no fun otherwise. It was when one of them took notice of her frequent glances towards her workmanship, and decided it would get a rise out of her. It did... and it was one of the final mistakes of the boy's life. Danni flew into a rage, and released her frustration, and pent up anger at them, before getting a bright idea. She lit off one of the fireworks towards them. No stranger to mishaps, and already wearing leather to help protect her, Danni was largely unscathed. The boy? Not so much.
The other kids ran away, and soon a dispatch of Marines showed up to collect the boy, and arrest the pre-teened Danni, who, when compared to the kids that were on fast track to become promising young Marines, was in the wrong, and just a delinquent, and now killer.
Knowing little sympathy was held for the girl that caused the promising cadets so much trouble. He stowed her away before they could get to her, and once again, Danni found herself watching another place called home disappear on the horizon as a little ship drifted away. Danni never made it to what was to be her next home, and instead, hijacked the ship. With just a few of her personal belongings she's had since childhood, Danni left, taking the ship and its crew with her.
It was on an island with a nice village that Danni settled down on, and where she met someone she could finally call a friend... Jeremy.
