Not much is known about the world before the World Government came into being seven hundred years ago. Although there is no proof to corroborate this it is common knowledge that there was a barbaric and violent kingdom that ruled most of the world before the World Government. It was an empire that campaigned across the world claiming other kingdoms in battles they were not prepared for and did not know they would be fighting.[break][break]
However, some good did come from this as the barbaric kingdom had advanced weapons technology. Because of this twenty brave kingdoms were able to unite and overthrow the empire completely eradicating them. The twenty kingdoms became the World Government and the celestial dragons that brought freedom and peace to a war-torn and enslaved world. The World Government promised that they would learn from the mistakes of the barbaric kingdom and not force anyone to join them.[break][break]
Though this is the account of history given to the masses due to the fighting having destroyed any written knowledge from that time there is no real way to know what exactly happened and the World Government has made it quite clear that looking that far into the past is not allowed as it would not benefit the future to look so far into the past. The World Government almost completely absorbed all of the kingdoms that the barbaric empire had subdued mainly because they relied on the technology of the barbaric kingdom that the World Government had now claimed as its own.[break][break]
This made it so that the choice was either affiliate with the World Government or go back to the stone ages and try to climb your way back on your own. While some nations and kingdoms did just that most decided to affiliate. The World Government ruled peacefully for around three hundred years before the revolutionaries showed up.[break][break]
While this was going on there was one nation in the world that neither the old empire nor the World Government attempted to subjugate. This being the Wano Kingdom which on their own had the technology to rival the old empire not to mention their own warriors called samurai and ninja that were extremely strong and feared throughout the world as some of the best fighters in the world. Because of this, the Wano Country was allowed to stay to itself secluded which was how they liked it.[break][break]

Although like all the other islands it was forced to give up its technology it was an island full of talented carpenters and they were able to catch up and even surpass the carpentry technology that had been taking from them within a few decades. Seeing this, the World Government called for a meeting to ask for a contract with the island to help them with their marine ships in exchange for Belli and other technologies. The meeting was agreed upon and the meeting went well however as soon as the World Government officials left it was found out that the island was sinking and would soon be below sea level.[break][break]

Though as they were beginning to wonder how long they had and if they could all escape in time a brilliant carpenter named Rockefeller Vanderbilt created a way to save the island.[break][break]

Though they were receiving help from the World Government Shipyard Island wanted it to be made a law that pirates could not be arrested or hunted on their island so long as they did not create too much trouble as pirates where their main customers this was also agreed upon.[break][break]

Although the people of the island insisted that they had nothing of value the Longarm Bandits would not let them be. This continued for decades until the island was left destitute and barren. The World Government used the story as a tale to caution people away from breaking their affiliation as well as a means to recruit other islands and kingdoms.[break][break]
While there were some who took heed to the World Governments' story there were some that believed that the World Government put the Longarm Bandits up to attacking the island as a way to make sure that no one would leave their influence. Baltigo was one of the first twenty kingdoms that started the World Government. It was also the only island and kingdom whose original ruling family stayed on their home island despite being a celestial dragon and having their own large island located on the Red Line. The reason the celestial dragon had given for staying on their home island was that he could not bear to be apart from his citizens and the denizens of the island respected him greatly for it and loved the entire ruling family.[break][break]

Using the attacks to distract the Marines from the propaganda which served to sway the citizens against their king. This did not work at first until the Revolutionaries found proof that the real reason the celestial dragon had stayed was so that he could continue ordering, hunting, killing, and eating exotic slaves while giving the World Government plausible deniability due to it not happening in their own backyard.[break][break]

The Revolution liberated the island and made it their headquarters working out of the castle that once belonged to the celestial dragons, the citizens of the island did not mind as they look to the revolutionaries as the heroes that saved them from the royal families lies.[break][break]

As they had been putting up a valid fight against the World Government for about a century by this time and Minion Island was raking in on both sides of the fight.[break][break]
Although they too were using Minion Island to bolster their ranks the World Government had enough of the island playing both sides and demanded that they choose only one side to help. The minions refused as this went against the very principals that they founded their island on which were the principles of neutrality over loyalty they would fight for whatever side paid the rate and that would be that.[break][break]
The World Government would retaliate in force with something that would be considered the ultimate form of attack by the marines. Based on the then Fleet Admiral’s idea of Absolute Justice the marines attacked the entirety of Minion Island. It was not just a normal attack either as they focused much more manpower to Minion Island than they did anywhere else. The Buster Call, which the technique has come to be known as today consisted of Five Vice Admirals and ten warships the call cannot be rescinded and once the target has been spoken communications go black and an order to kill all in the way including other marine forces is given. Since that day Minion Island has become a ghost island and a testament to the power, will, and viciousness of the World Government.[break][break]
The Flevance Kingdom although not part of the first twenty kingdoms to band together to create the World Government was one of the first kingdoms to enter into the World Government after it was established. This is in large part to its wealth that it received through the trading of Amber Lead. Amber Lead is a white ore that can only be found in the Flevance Kingdom. Its fabricated products all give off a white shiny coat that made the material an instant success and a practical gold mine for the country, proving wealth and riches for the people. The products made from Amber Lead vary from wall paint to pottery as well as make-up and weapons. The ore is also used up by plants, giving them its white color.[break][break]
This lead to the country being nicknamed the White City and its population living wealthy lives, but ironically enough, the ore was the cause of the downfall of Flevance. Over two centuries ago the World Government discovered in their geological surveys of the island that the ore became slightly poisonous when exposed to the surface but they and the royalty of Flevance decided to keep it a secret from the public because of the wealth it brought, allowing the amber lead to accumulate over the years.[break][break]
Even more ironic, is when neighboring countries started to shoot down any infected Flevance citizens who tried to exit the country's quarantined borders, the Flevance citizens have more lead bullets than they ever needed to retaliate. This led to a war, though not one that lasted very long due to the nature of the Amber Lead Syndrome, Flevance ended their war effort only after five years due to the threat both the war and Amber Lead Syndrome which nearly caused Flevance’s destruction.[break][break]
The King quarantined off the kingdom in search of a cure to the disease which was a non-contagious, but hereditary, the disease, caused by the accumulated buildup of amber lead in the victim's body after constant exposure to the ore or material products created with amber lead. Because of the compounding and hereditary nature of the disease, it was harder and harder to fight as each generation’s lifespan became shorter and shorter. It wasn’t until the expected lifespan of the next and seemingly the last generation was thought to be thirteen years old did a ray of hope appear.[break][break]
A passing doctor by the name of Albert Newton decided that he would enter the quarantine showing that the disease was indeed non-contagious and begun working on a way to safely remove the lead from those infected. After seven years of research and trial and error, the doctor was able to safely remove the lead from those infected. While many celebrated the doctor as a hero others condemned him for his ruthless experiments on live humans many of whom died from the experiments. After another two years of research, he even found a way to treat the Amber Lead before its exposure to the outside air so that it would no longer be poisonous saving not only the people of Flevance but its main export as well.[break][break]
Around this same time, the knock up stream blasted a part of Jaya into the air. The chunk of earth split the large sky island into two which caused them to become two moderately sized islands in their own right. This accidental act started a war that would last for centuries and still not see a victor to this day. Birka which was broken into a slightly larger island felt that with its larger size it should be the main island it claimed both Skypiea and Shandia as its own. Skypiea which was blasted closer to heaven’s gate and was now the very first sky island anyone traveling the White Sea would see felt like it should be the main island and claimed both Shandia and Skypiea as its own. Shandia believed that it should be left alone and independent but was dragged into the war for its own independence.[break][break]

One hundred years ago in order to get a leg up on the competition, that the revolutionaries had become, the world government had answered a plight that had been going ignored for quite some time. Fishmen and Merfolk had been asking to join the World Government for hundreds of years but the popular consensus was that Fishmen and Merfolk were merely just fish the World Government had been doing their best to ignore the claims. However, as the need for strong fighters grew the World Government could not ignore that a race of beings that were more physically able than normal humans had been asking to affiliate with them.[break][break]
With that in mind, they extended their hand to the Fishmen and Merfolk saying that it had taken them so long because they were preparing a space for them up in the sun. The World Government had given them Las Camp an island that before this was completely empty with nothing on it, though of course there was no way for the Fishmen or Merfolk to know that. While Las Camp and the Fishmen and Merfolk had not been officially welcomed into the World Government they figured it was a huge step closer whereas the World Government was just trying to get stronger bodies for their war.[break][break]
Around the same time (and some say the reason for the Fishmen Concord) there was a battle on Kuraigana Island. The island itself was home to the Shikkearu Kingdom a kingdom that had decided against joining the World Government all those years ago. Because of this, the Revolution thought that the kingdom would be sympathetic to its cause. This was not the case as they just wished to be left alone. However, the World Government could not risk the Revolution talking the kingdom into joining so they also set out to speak with the Shikkearu Kingdom.[break][break]
Unfortunately for the Shikkearu, they arrived at the same time even though they had both been told that the island had no interest in joining their war because of this the Revolution and the World Government who believed Kuraigana island was playing both sides joined forces to destroy the kingdom. After that was settled they did not just wash there hands and be done with the island instead they fought over who would have control over the newly vacant island. The war for the island lasted quite some time with no winner every combatant on the island was killed and since then the island has been left alone by bot sects as if by an unspoken agreement between them.[break][break]
Eighty years ago the revolutionaries showed that they may not be any better with power than the world Government. It was on the revolutionary controlled island of Centaurea where the usual roles were reversed. This island had never belonged to the World Government and was actually found by the members of the revolution because of this they were able to fund the revolution with whatever money they had as they did not need to pay the World Government’s ridiculous affiliation tax. However, the revolutionaries began taking more than they truly needed and begun to work those within the island so hard that it was akin to slavery. It was not until the World Government showed up and fought a battle on the island that freed the island that the denizens of the island started singing the praises of the world government as their heroes and the revolution as the evil organization.[break][break]
Seventy years ago the three-way war going on within the sky was still happening with high casualties on all sides. Because of this, a truce was initiated. Each island would have its own independence away from the rule of the other islands. The truce would hold so long as they stayed on their respective island and did not venture off into the territory of the other islands. Although there has been news about multiple Birkans, Shandians, or Skypieans dying while on one of the other islands the open all-out fighting has stopped and a lot of the killing has been toned down. However, this has not stopped many sky islanders from leaving their home in search of a peaceful life down in the Blue Oceans not knowing that they were going from one multiple century-long war to another.[break][break]

The fight was brought to the base and the leader of the revolution at the time stayed behind to fight off the attack giving his people time to escape. Due to the public execution of the leader of the revolution having hurt the recruiting process for a few years it was then that the revolution decided to work through a system of council so that there would never again be just one leader of the revolution but there would be five one for each blue and one for the Grand Line as a whole. Forty years ago people began to move back to colors island and multiple towns and villages have sprung up there each named after a specific color.[break][break]
In the present time, the fighting has become less open warfare and more vying for islands and power. However, fighting between the revolution and the World Government still persists because of this the World Government has increased taxes. This has caused unrest in many of the civilians and has bolstered the ranks of the revolution. However, in a move that no one saw coming there have been several individuals who feel as if the revolution is just as bad as the World Government and have gone to sea on their own to live by their own code and to enjoy their freedom. These pirates have sparked the Golden Pirate Era which has also sparked an increase in bounty hunters which is a fine way to earn a living and pay those raised taxes without joining the marines revolutionaries or the pirates.

It wasn’t until the expected lifespan of the next and seemingly the last generation was thought to be thirteen years old did a ray of hope appear.[break][break]
A passing doctor by the name of Albert Newton decided that he would enter the quarantine showing that the disease was indeed non-contagious and begun working on a way to safely remove the lead from those infected. After seven years of research and trial and error, the doctor was able to safely remove the lead from those infected. While many celebrated the doctor as a hero others condemned him for his ruthless experiments on live humans many of whom died from the experiments. After another two years of research, he even found a way to treat the Amber Lead before its exposure to the outside air so that it would no longer be poisonous saving not only the people of Flevance but its main export as well.[break][break]
Around this same time, the knock up stream blasted a part of Jaya into the air. The chunk of earth split the large sky island into two which caused them to become two moderately sized islands in their own right. This accidental act started a war that would last for centuries and still not see a victor to this day. Birka which was broken into a slightly larger island felt that with its larger size it should be the main island it claimed both Skypiea and Shandia as its own. Skypiea which was blasted closer to heaven’s gate and was now the very first sky island anyone traveling the White Sea would see felt like it should be the main island and claimed both Shandia and Skypiea as its own. Shandia believed that it should be left alone and independent but was dragged into the war for its own independence.[break][break]
Fishmen Concord & the fall of Shikkearu Kingdom

100 years ago
One hundred years ago in order to get a leg up on the competition, that the revolutionaries had become, the world government had answered a plight that had been going ignored for quite some time. Fishmen and Merfolk had been asking to join the World Government for hundreds of years but the popular consensus was that Fishmen and Merfolk were merely just fish the World Government had been doing their best to ignore the claims. However, as the need for strong fighters grew the World Government could not ignore that a race of beings that were more physically able than normal humans had been asking to affiliate with them.[break][break]
With that in mind, they extended their hand to the Fishmen and Merfolk saying that it had taken them so long because they were preparing a space for them up in the sun. The World Government had given them Las Camp an island that before this was completely empty with nothing on it, though of course there was no way for the Fishmen or Merfolk to know that. While Las Camp and the Fishmen and Merfolk had not been officially welcomed into the World Government they figured it was a huge step closer whereas the World Government was just trying to get stronger bodies for their war.[break][break]
Around the same time (and some say the reason for the Fishmen Concord) there was a battle on Kuraigana Island. The island itself was home to the Shikkearu Kingdom a kingdom that had decided against joining the World Government all those years ago. Because of this, the Revolution thought that the kingdom would be sympathetic to its cause. This was not the case as they just wished to be left alone. However, the World Government could not risk the Revolution talking the kingdom into joining so they also set out to speak with the Shikkearu Kingdom.[break][break]
Unfortunately for the Shikkearu, they arrived at the same time even though they had both been told that the island had no interest in joining their war because of this the Revolution and the World Government who believed Kuraigana island was playing both sides joined forces to destroy the kingdom. After that was settled they did not just wash there hands and be done with the island instead they fought over who would have control over the newly vacant island. The war for the island lasted quite some time with no winner every combatant on the island was killed and since then the island has been left alone by bot sects as if by an unspoken agreement between them.[break][break]
Golden Pirate Era
80 years ago-present
Eighty years ago the revolutionaries showed that they may not be any better with power than the world Government. It was on the revolutionary controlled island of Centaurea where the usual roles were reversed. This island had never belonged to the World Government and was actually found by the members of the revolution because of this they were able to fund the revolution with whatever money they had as they did not need to pay the World Government’s ridiculous affiliation tax. However, the revolutionaries began taking more than they truly needed and begun to work those within the island so hard that it was akin to slavery. It was not until the World Government showed up and fought a battle on the island that freed the island that the denizens of the island started singing the praises of the world government as their heroes and the revolution as the evil organization.[break][break]
Seventy years ago the three-way war going on within the sky was still happening with high casualties on all sides. Because of this, a truce was initiated. Each island would have its own independence away from the rule of the other islands. The truce would hold so long as they stayed on their respective island and did not venture off into the territory of the other islands. Although there has been news about multiple Birkans, Shandians, or Skypieans dying while on one of the other islands the open all-out fighting has stopped and a lot of the killing has been toned down. However, this has not stopped many sky islanders from leaving their home in search of a peaceful life down in the Blue Oceans not knowing that they were going from one multiple century-long war to another.[break][break]
Around sixty years ago the revolutionaries had a secret base within East Blue on Colors Island. The secret base there was becoming so successful due to the fact that no was suspected any trouble out of the weakest ocean in the world that they would be surprised to run into high ranking officials of the revolution there. This went on for about ten years until the World Government finally got wind of the location of the hideout. The fight was brought to the base and the leader of the revolution at the time stayed behind to fight off the attack giving his people time to escape. Due to the public execution of the leader of the revolution having hurt the recruiting process for a few years it was then that the revolution decided to work through a system of council so that there would never again be just one leader of the revolution but there would be five one for each blue and one for the Grand Line as a whole. Forty years ago people began to move back to colors island and multiple towns and villages have sprung up there each named after a specific color.[break][break]
In the present time, the fighting has become less open warfare and more vying for islands and power. However, fighting between the revolution and the World Government still persists because of this the World Government has increased taxes. This has caused unrest in many of the civilians and has bolstered the ranks of the revolution. However, in a move that no one saw coming there have been several individuals who feel as if the revolution is just as bad as the World Government and have gone to sea on their own to live by their own code and to enjoy their freedom. These pirates have sparked the Golden Pirate Era which has also sparked an increase in bounty hunters which is a fine way to earn a living and pay those raised taxes without joining the marines revolutionaries or the pirates.
