The Sharkbane crew aspires to live free of the shackles of the any organization and its corruption. They seek new adventures and treasures to loot (only from those who are deserving). John intends to go across the Grand Line and eventually to the New World.[break][break]
There are, of course, other goals that John wishes to achieve. A major one being to disrupt the Slave Trade and free any enslaved people he and his crew happen across. John believes in a diverse world that lives in harmony. He won't think twice before offering members of different races to become a part of his family. And, one day, he will create an island nation for people of all kinds to live.
John is the Captain of the ship. And yet he is a pirate who values the input of all members that travel with him. He will consider alternative options and advice offered by his crewmates. John is a true leader who works with his crew members rather than one who orders them around from a position of power. [break]
Being a pirate does not make one a savage sea raider who terrorizes the coasts and the governments of the world. In John's mind, a pirate is someone who lives free and does not answer to the World Government, Revolutionaries, or the Celestial Dragons. John Davis can be best described as Chaotic Good. Even as a pirate he wishes to do the right thing. John will never hesitate to help a person in need, even if it is his own enemy.[break]
