One Piece: Treasure Cruise is an Alternate Universe (AU) site where the straw hats and all the other famous pirates of the animanga do not exist.
The Time frame for the site is around the same time frame of the Animanga so the technology and such are on par with what is seen in the show though some advances can be made within reason of course.
There should be no mention of cannon characters as none of them exist and although there may be certain things that are similar to the animanga as this site is based off of it, the animanga is not considered cannon on this site.
Plot
Seventy years ago the three way war going on within the sky was still happening with high casualties on all sides. Because of this a truce was initiated. Each island would have its own independence away from rule of the other islands. The truce would hold so long as they stayed on their respective island and did not venture off into the territory of the other islands. Although there have been news about multiple Birkans, Shandians, or Skypieans dying while on one of the other islands the open, all-out fighting has stopped and a lot of the killing has been toned down. However, this has not stopped many sky islanders from leaving their home in search of a peaceful life down in the Blue Oceans not knowing that they were going from one multiple century long war to another.
Around sixty years ago the revolutionaries had a secret base within East Blue on Colors Island. The secret base there was becoming so successful due to the fact that none would suspect any trouble out of the weakest ocean in the world, so much so that they would be surprised to run into high ranking officials of the revolution there. This went on for about ten years until the World Government finally got wind of the location of the hideout. The fight was brought to the base and the leader of the revolution at the time stayed behind to fight off the attack giving his people time to escape. Due to the public execution of the leader of the revolution having hurt the recruiting process for a few years it was then that the revolution decided to work through a system of council so that there would never again be just one leader of the revolution but five one for each blue and one for the Grand Line as a whole. Forty years ago people began to move back to colors island and multiple towns and villages have sprang up there each named after a specific color.
In the present time the fighting has become less open warfare and more vying for islands and power. However fighting between the revolution and the World Government still persist because of this the World Government has increased taxes. This has caused unrest in many of the civilians and has bolstered the ranks of the revolution. However in a move that no one saw coming there have been several individuals who feel as if the revolution is just as bad as the World Government and have gone to sea on their own to live by their own code and to enjoy their freedom. These pirates have sparked the Golden Pirate Era which has also sparked an increase in bounty hunters which is a fine way to earn a living and pay those raised taxes without joining the marines revolutionaries or the pirates.

The DDMRD (Den Den Mushi Replication Device) also known as the TSRD (Transponder Snail Replication Device) is an innovative piece of equipment that allows Cyborgs to communicate via Den Den Mushi through artificial means. The device has an effective Island-wide range (the same as a Baby Den Den Mushi) and replicates the psychic waves and frequencies that Den Den Mushi uses to communicate in order to work. The device is implanted into the internals of a Cyborg and hooked up to their ear allowing them to hear transmissions discreetly, while they still have to talk aloud to communicate.

The Copper Sunrise is a steamship designed and constructed by Donovan Tilestone. It's name is inherited from the Copper steam engine at it's heart, and the freedom associated with a rising sun.
A medium sized Tuna Class ship, it has two paddlewheels on its side providing propulsion, allowing the ship to be sailed without the use of the wind. Inside, it has a hull with enough space to fit piles of stacked crates, and a small kitchen that gets it's heat and water from the same system as the small steam engine. The second room below deck is beneath the center of the deck, where Donovan tinkers and does repairs. It's also where the engine is kept.
The room topside of the boat is the quarters, where several hammocks hang from the ceiling and a ladder leads down into the hull. In the center of the deck is a flashy-looking blue and red cannon that can be pulled out of the floor, can aim 360° and stands taller than Donovan himself; however, although it looks flashy and large, it only has the power of a small cannon. When retracted, the cannon is stores in the same space as Donovan's workshop.
Upon aiming at an opponent with his right arm, Donovan is able to separate and fire his right forearm like a rocket at an opponent. His arm then returns to his body; reeled in by a thin micro-wire. This attack can be used from short to long range, within a distance of 0 - 9 meters.

Pulling his right arm off, Donovan charges a powerful explosive blast in his arm, which makes his chest puff out. At short range, this attack is destructive enough to break through Intermediate defenses in a single blow; though at longer ranges the effectiveness of the attack wavers.

Utilizing rockets in his feet, Donovan boosts forwards in a burst of speed, allowing him to move fast enough to be seen as a blur by those of Rookie level without an SA or Technique to assist their reflexes or sight. This burst of speed only covers a small amount of ground, and must be recharged for two posts between uses.

a bunch of islands or locations from the anime/manga and how I think they would be in this version of the one piece world, I feel like some more locations in each of the blues might make them more appealing, since the most populated blue is the East in terms of locations to visit (for obvious reasons, but still)
feel free to comment with things you think should be changed, add your own if you're reading and not in power to implement these, and if you are but don't feel the need to, please explain why
North Blue
Germa The Germa Kingdom, also known as the Kingdom of Science, is an island kingdom ruled by local royalty and famous for it's impressive military might. This island has very little marine presence, as the Royal Guard and Germa Military police the island themselves.
(Since the canon characters don't exist, you could just have it that Germa was never turned into the worlds first Maritime Nation, and remained an Island...?)
Rakesh Rakesh is a port town in the North Blue. While not possessing many unique features within the primarily work-based town itself, it is infamous for changing it's political and military alliances often and without much warning.
Notice Notice is a wealthy town in the North Blue. While people know of it as a wealthy place to trade or work, it is more prominently known as the "Island of Boredom" known for the many youth who have left it for a life at sea, whether as pirates, marines, bounty hunters or traders.
East Blue
Cozia Cozia is an island in the East Blue that contains a large city with unique, monastery-like architecture and dotted with many palm trees. There is a large mountain range nearby to the city.
Warship Island Warship Island, also known as "Battleship Island", is an island named for it's mountainous structure making it resemble a battleship. The island has a village of people who believe that their home was once also the home of many ancient dragons long ago.
Gold Island The Gold Island is situated in the East Blue, and is rumored to have once been the base of operations for a legendary pirate who supposedly stole a third of all the worlds gold long ago. It is an uninhabited island possessing a dense forest, a large hill and a flat-topped mountain resembling a volcano.
Mirrorball Island Mirrorball Island is an island located in the East Blue. The island has a large dome on which the namesake mirror ball stands above the island. The headquarters of Doskoi Panda, a popular brand-name franchise in East Blue, are on this island.
South Blue
Black Drum Kingdom The Black Drum Kingdom is an island in the South Blue, believed to have a distant relation to the Drum Kingdom in the Grand Line. It's most prominent landmarks are a large stone castle and the town surrounding it. It is prone to stormy weather, and has one of the worlds largest exports of the special shape-memory alloy "Wapometal".
(Since Wapol doesn't exist you could maybe rename it, but if not that's why I added the little bit about the distant relation to the Drum Kingdom. Wapometal is sweet as though, so we need it )
Kilauea Kilauea is also known as the "Land of Fire" due to it's immense temperatures. The barren surface of the island and dry forests are prone to fires, with bushfires, ash and smoke being a daily event here. Due to the harsh conditions, the island has no settlers, but is often used as a place to exile people and leave them for death by pirates.
(Figured I'd place it in South Blue since the region isn't listed, and Musshuru is related to Wapol so it fits in the same place as the Black Drum Kingdom sort of. Feel free to do whatever with it.)
Eight Nine Island Eight Nine Island is owned by the Den-Den Company and is famous for the "Thousand-Year Trees" that grow upon the island's surface, which can produce Paper that apparently doesn't fade for "a thousand years" due to it's resistance to elemental wear-and-tear. The only settlement on the island is a work community that harvests and trades in the famous paper.
West Blue
Kano Country The Kano Country is a nation in West Blue that resembles an ancient Chinese city with buildings characterized by Chinese style architecture. The island's trade specialty is flowers, and they have a famous reputation for producing skilled Martial Artists. It also has several tall rock spires around the city.
Clockwork Island Clockwork Island is a small Island in the West Blue. Though the island itself is small, there is a humongous tower at the center that supports a fairly large city at the top. The most important part of the island is the "key" that supports the city's weight. Clockwork City is known for it's technological advancements in terms of Blues level technology, where they specialize in small gadgets and clockwork trinkets.
(I chose to move this Movie-Only island from the East Blue to the West Blue since the East Blue has enough population and the West Blue pales in comparison. Feel free to do what you want with it though.)
Another idea is to add a section of the suggestions board for people to submit custom islands or locations to the site so we can get a more populated feel to the blues, grand line, calm belt and red line
Weighing more than a human-sized granite statue and standing taller than the average door, this living suit of iron is one tough customer. Donovan has a large, muscular build that reflects his impressive strength well. He has a short, squared nose and a plain face, visibly connected by seams to the rest of his head. He has two iron bolts sticking out of each side of his head, and scruffy black hair. His neck, arms and legs also bear seams upon them that appear almost like stitches, which allow him to remove either the entire bodily segment, or just the outer-casing that hides his mostly machine-like interior. He usually wears a black shirt or tank top, and a bandanna. His favorite bandanna has "Special ☀ Attack" written on it.

Overall
While he keeps it mostly hidden from most people with his oftentimes grumpy and reclusive nature, Donovan is still just as scared of trusting others now as he was as a child. Having been raised in captivity by a madman dreaming of the perfect cyborg soldier, he never really had a childhood and never really learnt how to socialize with others. He doesn't know how to react or make a good impression, and usually ends up doing something awkward that he regrets later.
When it comes to friends or those closer to him, he lets it show a little. He sometimes cries alone on the deck of ships or in quiet corners where nobody can find him, remembering all the hard times and his terrible life before his freedom was obtained. But still; with the few friends he does have, he is so happy to have them, more so than he is capable of expressing.
He's always like birds though. Some are locked in a cage, like he was, but most are flying free, allowed to go and do as they please. Something he envies. He is very attentive to the finer details and loves investigating how things work, all the little mechanics behind everything in the world. It's what makes him tick, finding out what makes other things tick.
From the day he was born, Donovan was in captivity. He, his siblings and his mother were all prisoners in the depths of a factory in the scrapheap that was Spider Miles, slaves and experiments for his father to toy around with. While Katherine was only experimented on genetically, the Dr. attempting to accelerate her reflexes and harden her bones to the density of iron, Xander and Donovan were candidates for his Cyborg program. After the age of five, the children never saw their mother again; she just vanished overnight, with every trace of her being removed from their rooms, and her room in the factory simply being replaced with storage space.
For the majority of his childhood Donovan was slowly turned into more and more of a Cyborg; at age 7 already being at least 45% machine and capable of removing his forearms and his face. While he was built for size, weight and power his brother was built to be lightweight, fast and agile. Donovan and his brother were often pitted against each other in order to test their abilities, and while the winner was treated to a nice meal before bed, the loser was beaten for their failure, and tortured.
Fast forward to recently; Donovan, Katherine and Xander were all adults and nearly fully developed. Dr. Tilestone was going to sell his children to Cipher Pol due to their abilities, the World Government seeing them as useful to the cause of Absolute Justice. Not wanting to go through with it and seeking freedom, the three children attempted an escape on the day of the transfer. In the chaos that ensued, Donovan was confronted by his father at the exit.
In an incident that was a long time coming, Donovon killed his own father with a powerful Cherry Bomb attack, but in the process destroyed a delicate machine that set of a chain reaction causing the factory to explode. Donovan just narrowly made it out alive, having to leave his presumed dead siblings behind.
While the Cipher Pol agents who had come were now dead due to the explosion, their Marine Squad escort was not, and they rushed to oppose Donovan and prevent his escape. While he beat them down, one of the Marines took a photo with a camera just as dust was clearing only to be met with a solid punch.
Stealing a boat in order to get off of Spider Miles, now both free and a wanted criminal for the damage to property combined with the murder and assault of Marine officials and Cipher Pol personnel, Donovan set sail and began his journey as a free man. Since beginning his journey, he has picked up and recorded information into his CSS, such as a Map of the Blues and a copy of the Devil Fruit Encyclopedia.

Special Abilities
Cyborg Scanning System (CSS): Donovan's eyes possess a pretty useful ability, a system implemented during his childhood by his ambitious inventor father. The CSS is currently capable of displaying any known information about the targets (racial information as well as known devil fruit encyclopedia entries, bounty posters & news articles, ect) to Donovan, so long as it has valid reason to display such information. At Rookie Level he needs to be standing still to scan someone, and will need to wait a minute to have the information revealed. He can only read information on one person at a time, but after scanning someone once in a thread, for the rest of the thread he can switch to their profile to review what he's read.
Skilled Inventor: Donovan has an adept understanding of various kinds of both minor and major mechanical work. This combined with his innovative and impressive Cyborg body allows him to implement most tools and weapons into his Cyborg body's systems. At Rookie Level, he is capable of implementing tools, but not defensive or offensive equipment.
